NeuroStories for Therapists and Teachers

Child psychologists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, special education staff and teachers often use social stories to prepare a child for a specific situation. Writing and illustrating them by hand takes time. NeuroStories creates an illustrated, narrated story about that situation in about a minute, with the child as the hero.

What situations is it good for?

  • Previewing a doctor or dentist visit, a haircut, a trip or a move.
  • Routines and transitions: leaving the park, turning off the tablet, switching activities in class, the first day of school.
  • Feelings and social skills: frustration when losing, waiting for a turn, joining in at recess.
  • Sensory: loud noises, food or clothing textures.

See real examples, with a guide to read them, in stories for every challenge.

How does it work in therapy?

  1. Together with the family, you choose the challenge (from dozens of ready-made situations or in your own words).
  2. The family creates the story in their app account, with the child's name, age and interests and, if they like, the family as cartoons.
  3. They read it at home in the days before the situation, and you talk about it in the next session.

Every story can be downloaded as a PDFto print or share. Narration has a “Voice only” mode and adjustable volume and speed for sound-sensitive kids.

And in the classroom?

A story about class rules, recess or a change in routine helps the whole group know what to expect. For stories starring a specific child, it is best that their family creates them, since the family decides about the child's photos and data.

Children's data privacy

Before any data is sent, the app explains what is sent, to whom and why, and asks for permission. Photos are only used to draw the cartoons, are not used to train AI models, are never sold and can be deleted at any time. More in the privacy policy and our methodology.

What NeuroStories is not

It is a supportive tool, not a treatment. Stories complement professional work; they do not replace it.
